On behalf of all the schools and colleges in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, Careers Wales Cardiff & Vale would like to thank all the employers who provided work experience placements to school and college students during the last academic year.

The summer term was a particularly busy period: for example nearly 2000 14-16 year school students and over 600 16-19 6^th form students undertook 1 or 2 week work experience placements during July. These placements were supported by an estimated 1000 local employers, with many places being arranged through Careers Wales on-line work experience system.

The vast majority of students felt that they had benefited from work experience, citing communication skills, being punctual and taking responsibility as their main learning. The majority also said that work experience was useful in helping them to decide the type of work that they would like to do in the future.
